WYF 2024 Registration Closed. Over 300,000 People from around the World Apply to Participate in the Festival

The World Youth Festival application campaign has closed. Registration of applicants opened in Nizhny Novgorod on Youth Day, June 24, and continued until December 1, 2023.

"The main stage of registration for the World Youth Festival has ended. We have received more than 309 542 applications to participate in the WYF 2024 from 188 countries around the world. They expressed their desire to come to Russia and become part of the upcoming largest international event.  Such a huge response to the Festival proves that young people, regardless of their geographical location, religion, profession and interests, want to connect and, most importantly, have an open and honest dialogue. This shows that young people are ready to unite and contribute to building a common future and creating a just multipolar world. Russia will be a hospitable host of such a large youth event," said Ksenia Razuvaeva, Head of Rosmolodezh.

International applications came from all regions of the world – Europe, North, Central and South America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. National Preparatory Committees, created on the initiative of youth organizations in different countries of the world, participate in recruiting foreign participants and forming foreign delegations. There are currently 83 Committees on all continents.

Applications were received from all regions of Russia. Most of them came from Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, the Belgorod, Voronezh, Moscow, Tyumen and Omsk Regions and the Republic of Tatarstan.

For the first time in the history of the festival movement, a children's track has been created. The World Youth Festival will be attended by 500 Russian and 500 foreign teenagers aged 14 to 17. By the end of registration, 82,000 teenagers applied to participate in the WYF 2024.

A total of 20,000 young leaders aged 18 to 35 from a wide range of fields, including 10,000 foreign participants, will be able to take part in the Festival. The selection period will last until the end of December, 2023. Then young people who have successfully passed all the selection stages will receive an official invitation to the World Youth Festival.

 

Overview:

The World Youth Festival will take place in 2024 according to the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of international youth cooperation. At the first meeting of the Organizing Committee chaired by Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration, it was decided to hold the Festival in the Sirius Federal Territory early next year.

20,000 young leaders in education, science, international cooperation, culture, volunteering, charity, sports, business, media, etc., including 10,000 foreign participants, will take part in the WYF 2024. For the first time in the history of the festival movement young people aged 14-17, 500 from Russia and 500 from abroad, will have the opportunity to participate in the event.

5,000 volunteers from all regions of Russia, including 228 residents of the LPR, DPR, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Regions will be involved in the organization and delivery of the Festival.

The World Youth Festival is organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) and operated by the World Youth Festival Directorate.
