1 March 2024, 14:54

On March 1, the day of the start of the World Youth Festival, its guides began to conduct special tours of the World Youth City - that is how the Festival site is named for the duration of the Festival, Ksenia Razuvaeva, Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs reported at a press conference.

The tours are held in Russian and foreign languages.

"The best tour guides from all over the country uniquely reveal for our guests the Festival site, the Sirius Federal Territory and Sochi", Ksenia Razuvaeva stressed.

According to her, the guides were selected to work at the Festival. Out of 10,000 applicants, 300 were selected - these are the best specialists from all over the country. 12 tour routes have been developed, which will familiarize the guests of the Festival with the opportunities of Russia in its various areas - successes and features of culture, as well as inspire them to new achievements and help them to look at the country with different eyes.

The main street in the World Youth City is Dobro Avenue, which symbolizes kindness, solidarity and mutual help. There you can learn about Rosmolodezh projects aimed at supporting volunteer movements.

The tour routes include pavilions of Russian cities - Moscow, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Belgorod Region and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area, as well as their foreign twin cities.

The Soul of Russia Square attracts special attention of the Festival guests, where the most large-scale events and shows of the Festival will be held in the coming days.

The Russia in Miniature Art Park allows you to explore regional attractions. There are already models of iconic buildings and objects-symbols of Russian regions. For example, Ivanovo is represented by a bright ball consisting of colored patchwork images of chintzes. And the Tambov region is represented by a model of the building of the composer Rachmaninoff's estate. Each object has an informational QR code. This space will be built up further, all the objects have been created by the students of the organizations of secondary vocational education from 32 regions of the country.

The World Market Art.Molodost has united representatives of creative industries, fashion and modern art lovers. It is here that the grand opening ceremony of the World Youth Festival will be held on March 2.

Another important point of the tour routes will be the Pushkin-225 Cultural Сenter (in 2024, the poet’s 225th anniversary will be celebrated). This is a space which represents the cultural landscape of Russia in its diversity: ice shows, music concerts, ballet and theater performances. It is here that Ilya Averbukh’s grand ice show will take place during the Festival.

Ksenia Razuvaeva paid special attention to the Planetarium, where the Sber Technology Park is located for the days of the Festival, where you can make a real interactive journey into the past.

"The Planetarium presents absolutely amazing content. With the help of artificial intelligence, which is trained on a large array of data, the heroes of the past are recreated: you can communicate with Pushkin, Tolstoy and Dostoevsky. This is a completely new format, there has never been such a format before," emphasized the head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.

The World Youth Festival is taking place in the Sirius Federal Territory on March 1–7, 2024, in accordance with the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin in order to develop international youth cooperation.

20,000 young leaders in education, science, international cooperation, culture, volunteering, charity, sports, business, media, etc., including 10,000 foreign participants, will take part in the WYF 2024. For the first time in the history of the festival movement, teenagers from 14 to 17 years old will have the opportunity to join the event, including 500 from Russia and 500 from abroad.

The organizer of the World Youth Festival is the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), the operator of the WYF 2024 is the Directorate of the World Youth Festival.
